73rd Independence Day Celebration in AIMK

In the 73rd year of independence AIMK celebrated the day at campus with great enthusiasm. Saffron, white and green are the colors which every indian wear with pride and so does the AIMK students on the day.
The day started with flag hoisting by Director, Major General A K Sapra,VSM(Retd) and Registrar & Head of Administrator, Col Sushen Chakraborty (Retd)
followed by series of activities like group patriotic song, dance and skit by the students.

AIMK 22nd Foundation Day

The institute celebrated the 22nd Foundation Day. The day was filled with enthusiasm and joy. Not only did the course of MBA-23 batch officially commenced, but it also marked the first day of the new director Major General Arun Kumar Sapra, Vishist Seva Medal (Retd.). The celebration started with auspicious way of lamp lighting by the director and addressing the students as the functions started off. The talk on importance of the need to develop proper communication skills and the right work ethic was delivered to the students. During the refreshment after the event got finished the director personally interacted with the students and tried to understand their view about the changes that they think are necessary for their development. 
.
Post lunch, the students gathered where the MBA 23 batch put up an extravagant show showcasing their talents through classical dance, skit, Bhangra and singing. 
 

Guest Lecture on WWE Own

"Sustainable Development is a fundamental break that's going to reshuffle the entire deck. There are companies today that are going to dominate in the future simply because they understand that."
A guest lecture on "WWE Own:The water waste energy owners" was delivered by honorable guest "Dr.Salil K Sen" on 31st July 2019 for MBA 23 batch. He holds a PHD , MBA , B.E in mechanical and is a professor at NIDA business school. He actively conducts workshops on sustainability management school, based out of Geneva, Switzerland. He also runs the living lab which specifically works on sustainability development in an Eco system. Well versed lecture was delivered by him to the students explaining the three facts "what has been, what is it now and what it will be in the future" . Tons of examples were given related to ground water harvesting and concept of urbanization aligned with smart cities and green advertising. The session contained fun activity which involved each student present in hall and the lecture was finally concluded with awarding the winners of the sustainable development management program.
 

Interactive session with CDA Global Language Centre

The students of MBA batch 23 had an opportunity to interact with the members of CDA Global Language Centre, where they were told about the significance of studying a foreign language before stepping into the corporate world. They were briefed about the difference between general MBA and a MBA with a foreign language. They were told about the type of companies which prefer a MBA with foreign language over a regular MBA. CDA briefed the students about the Indian companies that might have foreign clients and foreign companies that work in India and how having a foreign language in their résumé will give them an edge. The students were then explained separately about the language specific merits of German, French and Spanish.

Talk on Entrepreneurship by Megna Laha

Is MBA required to be an entrepreneur? Is still being debated. In the meanwhile The MBA 23 batch got an opportunity to talk on Entrepreneurship and interact with one of the leading women entrepreneur Mrs Meghna Lala, the CEO of UNIVTRACK India. She has over 10 years of experience in working in the corporate sector for the field of strategy and business development. Apart from that she has been actively involved in working with some prestigious multinational organisations such as United Nations Development Program, Department of International Development, World Bank and Niti Ayog.
She educated the students about the trends, statics and the challenges faced by entrepreneurs. She deciphered entrepreneurship for our students by illustrating the types of entrepreneurship and what are the characteristics that set an entrepreneur apart from the rest of the crowd. 
She also helped in clearing the inquisition that was on the young minds. Meanwhile she also briefed about the intricacies of her start-up. The session turned out to be a highly interactive as our students were extremely moved by the insights from the world of entrepreneurship.
 

Industry Experts Meet

Renowned industry experts were visited the AIMK campus on 28th July 2019. Where Alumni, Mrs Devika Das from MBA 13 batch, content writer and an author, spoke about the soft skills required to operate in the corporate world and also explained the barriers of communication by conducting innovative activities in which the students whole heartedly participated. The next speaker was Ms Agnes Rozario, who works for Delhivery. She gave first hand insight about how logistics industry works, by breaking down the operations in a simple step by step process. Apart from that she also motivated our students to take up challenges head on by giving her personal experiences. And lastly while leaving the sessions she emphasized on "Being ready to learn and try is more important than being perfect" . A one on one question answer session was conducted by our last speaker of the day, Mr Kaushik Mondal a reputed Human resource professional.The students of MBA 23 batch were asked about their doubts regarding the nitty-gritty’s of working in the corporate sector. Each and every question was welcomed with the same enthusiasm and patience.The most important take away for our students was the importance of the possession of the right attitude along with the right skill set.

Guest Lecture by Mr Saswat Kumar

Mr. Saswat  Kumar,Manager-Zonal HR-Eastern Zone at Voltas Limited - A TATA Enterprise Kolkata, West Bengal visited campus on July 26, 2019, to deliver a session on “HOW SHOULD A PERSON BEHAVE IN CORPORATE WORLD”.
Protocols to be followed in an organization was discussed. Various real-life examples and experiences were shared regarding  ethics,  discipline,  alertness,  coordination,  patience and team work.
The session went interesting and engaging, concluded by a question and answer session clearing all the doubts of the students regarding the corporate world

Guest Lecture by Mr Chirabrata Majumdar

Mr Chirabrata Majumdar, having nearly 20 years of experience in the field of digital business transformation, currently working with Ericsson Global services as a senior manager in resource management graced the AIMK campus with his presence.
A very interactive session was conducted by him on the importance of "Responding and not reacting".
The facet of Human resource transformation was explained by portraying the impacts of the Generation theory on the industry as well as the society. The students were enlightened about the recent trends in the career skill relationship that are been looked up to, in the industry.
A proper bifurcation of Commodity skill, marketable skill and niche skill was explained by giving various example.
Important to say that by the end of session the students were motivated to rethink about the various aspects of transforming themselves.

Management Activity for MBA 23

The Management Activity on Sustainable Development for MBA-23 was organized in AIMK campus.
The activity was planned with the idea of making future managers, who are sensible and concerned enough towards their society and global climatic challenges.
Batch was asked to work in a team and propose a plan for the Ground water recharge in campus. The students were divided into groups of 10-11 members and presented their idea. The top three best proposals were selected to present before AICTE. Participants were judged on three criteria i.e. Project details, Location in campus and Budget of the project. The activity also gave practice of team building and group efforts to the students.

26th ᴊᴜʟʏ : ᴋᴀʀɢɪʟ ᴠɪᴊᴀʏ ᴅɪᴡᴀs

This date hold a very special place in the heart of every Indian. This is the day when we lost brave sons of the motherland who were trying to protect it from insurgents. The victory on battle field and the free air we breathe is because of our brave soldiers who laid down thier lives. That's right ,26th July is Kargil Vijay Diwas.
We at AIMK celebrated this auspicious day by remembering that freedom isn't free , it is paid for in Lives.The council President briefed everyone present about what is Kargil Vijay Diwas followed by remembrance video, enough to give goosebumps to everyone present in the room.
This was followed by lighting candles to pay our homage to the Martyrs and to everyone who had the privilege to be a part of the operation. Everyone enthusiastically participated including MBA 22 AND MBA 23 under the Guidance of faculty members.
