Capasal shampoo is designed to remove dead cells, soften and moisturizes the scalp while removing scaly skin. It also contains three active ingredients: salicylic acid which removes scales by breaking down patinated compounds on its surface; coconut oil that helps restore normal development of hair follicles plus distilled coal tar can relieve itching in some cases when applied!
What is seborrhoeic eczema?
If you have seborrhoeic dermatitis, your skin will be red and flaky. The itchy parts of this condition are often in areas that tend to produce more grease than other parts on the body – for example face or scalp (or even center chest). It’s also known as eczema; but don’t worry! This type only lasts until adulthood when their life becomes easier with time
It can cause severe itching which leads them quite uncomfortable lives at times because they feel like nothing else helps reduce stress
Symptoms of seborrhoeic dermatitis
The causes of seborrheic dermatitis are unknown, but it’s most commonly found on the following areas:
- Your scalp – symptoms range from mild, flaky skin (dandruff) to a more severe, scalier, itchy rash which may weep.
- Your face – especially between your eyebrows, on your cheeks and in the folds at the sides of your nose. It can also affect your eyelids, making them red, swollen and flaky. This is known as blepharitis.
- Your ears – the skin inside your ear may become inflamed, as well as your outer ear and the skin behind your ear.
- Your upper chest and your back, between your shoulder blades, may have round, pink or red patches with mild scaling.
- Skin folds – these are areas that tend to stay moist and include your armpits, under your breasts and your groin. Your skin here might appear pink, shiny and cracked.

How To Use
How To Use Capasal Shampoo
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor, pharmacist or nurse has told you. Check with your doctor, pharmacist or nurse if you are not sure.
Use Capasal Therapeutic Shampoo only to treat the scalp conditions that it is intended for.
Use as a shampoo until the scalp looks and feels better or as recommended by your doctor, pharmacist or nurse. Capasal can be used daily if required, reducing frequency of use to once or twice a week as your condition improves. Thereafter, occasional use may be necessary.
- Wet the hair thoroughly.
- Apply a small amount of shampoo to the scalp (approximately a quantity the size of a fifty pence piece for short hair, adjusting up depending on length/thickness of hair).
- With the tips of the fingers, massage in thoroughly.
- Leave on for a few minutes.
- Remove as much lather as possible with the hands (this is important as it will take the scales with it).
- Rinse out.
- If necessary, repeat the steps above.
- Rinse out well under running water, then dry the hair as normal.
The product, or the lather, may cause irritation if it gets into the eyes. If this happens, rinse with plenty of water. If rinsing one eye, take care to avoid washing product into the other eye. If irritation persists, contact a doctor or hospital.
Do not worry if you use too much shampoo, simply rinse hair under running water and continue as instructed above.
Do not worry if you occasionally forget to use this product, just carry on using it when you remember.
If there is no improvement after 4 weeks, or if your scalp condition seems to look or feel worse, discontinue use of the product and consult your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.
If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.
