Hirudoid Gel is a topical gel that helps relieve pain and inflammation, as well as promote healing in superficial thrombophlebitis and bruising. If you’re experiencing pain or inflammation from a vein injury, Hirudoid gel can help provide relief.
What is Superficial thrombophlebitis (Phlebitis)
At times, the superficial veins of your skin can cause problems and when this happens you may notice a burning sensation near or on these areas. Superficial thrombophlebitis is an inflammation caused by blood clots that form within varicose.
Symptoms of superficial thrombophlebitis include:
- painful hard lumps underneath the skin
- redness of the skin
This is usually on the lower leg, although it can occasionally affect surface veins in the arms, penis or breast.
Superficial thrombophlebitis in a leg is not usually serious.
The blood clot usually clears and the inflammation dies down within a few weeks.
Most people with superficial thrombophlebitis are otherwise well.

How To Use
How To Use Hirudoid Gel
For the treatment of superficial thrombophlebitis (inflammation of the veins) and the soothing relief of bruising and haematoma (deep bruising).
Adults, the elderly and children over 5 years old:
Unless otherwise directed, apply 2 – 6 inches (5-15 cm) of gel as a think layer to the affected area up to four times a day.
Do not exceed the stated dose. If the condition persists or worsens, consult your doctor.
Not to be used on children under 5 years.
