Made with a low-adherent fabric and impregnated with Povidone Iodine, Inadine Dressing is ideal for protecting and healing wounds. Plus, the PEG base ensures that the dressing stays in place, even when wet. So you can rest assured that your wound is getting the treatment it needs.

Iodine is a powerful antimicrobial that has been used for more than 170 years! Its effectiveness against bacteria, micro-bacteria, fungi, protozoa and viruses. making it an important tool in modern medicine.

How does Inadine Dressing work?

INADINE, a new antimicrobial agent developed by the Povidone Iodine molecule has been proven to be effective against MRSA. The broad spectrum action of this product reduces risk for infection at dressing removal and in clinical practice shows reduced pain levels among patients when used as directed with no adverse reactions or side effects reported so far!

As PVP–I is released from INADINE the dressing will change colour from orange to white. The colour change provides an indicator of how frequently dressings should be changed preventing unnecessary dressing changes, when compared to other dressings. This could improve cost effectiveness in treatment.

It should be used with caution, and if possible avoided, in patients with disorders of the thyroid gland as its use can result in hyperthyroidism.

Severe cutaneous reactions are rare, but nurses should always stop using iodine if they occur. There is no strong evidence that products that contain PVP-I pose any hazard to wound healing, but because of its broad antimicrobial properties it appears that it may play an important role in the prevention and treatment of wound infection
