Sodium Chloride Eye Ointment is a sterile ointment used to treat irritated eyes caused by various conditions, such as temporary relief from corneal edema, dry eyes, and minor eye injuries. It works by creating a protective barrier between the cornea and the outside environment, helping keep out irritants. It also helps moisturize the eye so it can heal faster and more effectively. Sodium Chloride Eye Ointment is suitable for adults and children over the age of 2 months. It is not recommended to use this medication on newborns or infants under 2 months old unless prescribed by a doctor. When using Sodium Chloride Eye Ointment, be sure to wash your hands before and after application, then tilt your head back and squeeze out a thin strip of ointment onto the inside corner of your eye. Close your eyes and gently massage the ointment across the surface. To remove any excess ointment, use a tissue or cotton swab. Do not touch the tip of an applicator to any surface or your eye in order to avoid contamination.
