Loratadine Allergy Relief Oral Solution For Children contains an antihistamine to relieve the symptoms of hayfever, pet, dust & skin allergies (e.g sneezing, runny and itchy nose and eye irritation).
Loratadine can also be used to treat raised, red itchy skin (symptoms of urticaria, which is often known as hives or nettle rash).
The active ingredient in this syrup, loratadine, which is an antihistamine. An antihistamine works by suppressing the effects of histamine, a natural substance in the body that is produced by the immune system
Loratadine syrup contains the active ingredient loratadine, which belongs to a group of medicines called
antihistamines. Loratadine is an anti-allergy medicine. It helps relieve the symptoms of:
allergic skin reactions like rashes, hives or nettle rash.
allergic rhinitis (for example seasonal hayfever), such as sneezing, runny or itchy nose, and burning or
itchy eyes.
Children 2 to 12 years of age
The amount to be taken depends on body weight:
Body weight more than 30 kg: the recommended dose is 10 ml (two 5 ml spoonfuls) of syrup once a day.
Body weight 30 kg or less: the recommended dose is 5 ml (one 5 ml spoonful) of syrup once a day
Suitable for adults and children over 2 years of age.

How to use
Giving Loratadine Oral Solution to children
It is important to know how much your child weighs to make sure that you give them the correct amount of medicine. As a guide a child of 9 years of age will weigh about 30kg. If in doubt weigh your child and then follow the instructions in the table below.

If you have severe liver problems your doctor or pharmacist may advise you to take the recommended amount every other day. If this applies to you, follow their instructions.
This medicine should be swallowed.
